About Us

Cambridgeshire is notable for delightful villages set in picturesque locations, and Hemingford Abbots, adjoining the Great Ouse River, is no exception.

Quiet Waters Caravan Park has been in the Hutson family for nearly 90 years, originally by Harry, then his son William (Bill) and is now currently run by Linda Coulson, daughter and granddaughter of the first owner, and her husband Tony. The quiet, peaceful spot occupies 5 acres by the banks of the Great Ouse, and in addition to touring caravans, motor homes and tents there are luxury caravans for hire (up to 6 berths, with 2 separate bedrooms). Four of these caravans overlook the river, the remaining have park views. There are excellent toilet and shower facilities and a laundry room which is maintained to a very high standard. Quiet Waters is also a residential mobile home park, offering 35 retirement homes with all amenities.

The park offers angling and boating facilities, including rowing boats for hire from our own banks, and country walks and cycling routes available from the park.

Hemingford Abbots is a delightful village, containing beautiful thatched cottages and dominated by St Margaret’s Church. A short walk from the park takes you to the local inn, offering excellent meals and service. The new village hall hosts many attractions during the summer months; the flower festival every three years is a major event for the villagers, also an annual regatta is hosted in the next village of Hemingford Grey and is reported to be one of the oldest held in the county.

Our nearest town is the lovely riverside market town of St Ives, offering a museum, recreation centre and many shops and restaurants. The Manor at Hemingford Grey is reputedly the oldest inhabited house in England, built around 1130. Also visit the historic cathedral cities of Ely, Peterborough and Bury St Edmunds. Not to mention the famous university city of Cambridge, and the war museum of Duxford. All are within easy reach from Hemingford Abbots and London is less than one hour by train.

So for a break and a peaceful chance to relax, then join the Coulson family at Hemingford Abbots.
